Immaculee Ilibagiza

Yay! I'm so excited! A group of us are going to see Immaculee in person here in Denver on the 1st. I've wanted to see her for a couple of years, after reading her book Left To Tell. I just barely missed her when I was in San Francisco. Just thinking about it sends chills up my spine. If you don't know the story of the Rwandan holocaust and are interested, you should read Left to Tell. It not only tells of the horror and inhumanity of the bloody genocide of nearly 1 million Tutsis, but it tells a love story between Immaculee and God, the most moving love story I have ever read. When I think back about this book, and remember the story of the devastation, the soul-wretched devastation, its still hard for me wrap my head around the unquenchable faith that she had and her ability, her need to forgive the people that slaughtered her family.
