Hi Mommy! Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to My Wonderful Mother-in-law Terry too!

I know Mother's Day isn't til Sunday but I'm heading to the mountains with my girlfriends for a little R&R for several days.

Mom, want to thank you for many things…in no particular order but all equally important…

Thank you…
For taking me to the beach.
For letting me crawl into bed with you when I was scared.
For being a room mother.
For planning my birthday parties.
For sewing my Halloween costumes.
For picking me up across town and not yelling at me when I accidentally got on the wrong bus at school in 1st grade.
For French braiding my long hair.
For going without so I could have a prom dress.
For letting me make mistakes.
For being my biggest fan.
For teaching me to hate racism.
For teaching me how to share.
For not giving up on me.
For being the “strict” mom.
For letting me make messes and for making me clean them up.
For packing my lunches.
For painting my fingernails.
For driving me and my friends everywhere.
For helping me sell 256 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
For losing sleep when I stayed out late.
For reading me stories and singing me songs.
For giving me 7-up and crackers when I was sick.
For hiding my Easter Baskets.
For showing me how to be a good mother to my own kids.

I love you!
Love,
Michelle

And since you will be thinking about Nanny on Mother's Day...

Such a feelin's comin' over me
There is wonder in 'most ev'ry thing I see
Not a cloud in the sky,
got the sun in my eyes
And I won't be surprised if it's a dream

Everything I want the world to be
Is now comin' true especially for me
And the reason is clear,
it's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen

I'm on the top of the world lookin'
down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found
ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world

Somethin' in the wind has learned my name
And it's tellin' me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees
and the touch of the breeze
There's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me

There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be
just the same for you and me
All I need will be mine if you are here

I'm on the top of the world lookin'
down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found
ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world

Mom...don't you remember? My record with the crack in it? I was just thinking about it the other day...how much we used to play it over and over after she passed away...
